Ingredients
  • 500 gr tofu
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tbsp mushroom bouillon
  • a pinch of black pepper
  • water
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt chili seasoning:
  • 5 chilies
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 spring onion
  • 5 garlic
  • 1/3 tsp pepper
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp mushroom bouillon
  • a dash of sugar
  • 1 tbsp oil
Instructions
  1. Begin by creating a thick batter for the tofu. In a container, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and mushroom bouillon. Mix well, ensuring the batter is thick enough to coat the tofu.

  2. Heat oil in a pan, dip the tofu into the batter, and fry until golden brown and crispy. Once cooked, set the fried tofu aside.

  3. Saute garlic until it turns golden brown. Add onions and stir until wilted.

  4. Add spring onions and chilies, mixing well until they too become tender. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, mushroom bouillon, and a dash of sugar. Stir thoroughly, creating a tantalizing blend of flavors.

  5. Finally, pour this aromatic seasoning over the fried tofu, coating it generously.

Note
  • Start with firm tofu to ensure a crispy exterior when frying. Press the tofu beforehand to remove excess water, allowing it to absorb the batter and seasoning better.
  • Achieve the ideal texture for your batter by adjusting the consistency. It should be thick enough to coat the tofu evenly but not too thick that it becomes clumpy. Add water gradually and mix well until you reach the desired thickness.
